The Payments Service Directive, Revised (PSD2) goes into effect at the end of 2020, with fines possible dating back to violations as early as 1 January 2020. Studies have shown a significant portion of consumers will abandon purchases if the interface is difficult or if trust is a question. PSD2 Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) answers those concerns.
