Industry Veteran Shares Best Practices for Protecting Data to Make Breaches Irrelevant

SACRAMENTO, Calif. –  StrongKey announced today that CTO Arshad Noor will speak at the State of California Cybersecurity Education Summit, to be held at the Sheraton Grand in Sacramento on October 9. The 2018 Summit is hosted by California State University, Sacramento in conjunction with four state partners: California Department of Technology, California Office of Emergency Services, The California National Guard and California Highway Patrol. 

The 2018 Summit gathers thought leaders from industry, government and academia to engage, inform, train and empower California to stay ahead of cyber threats. The current data protection strategies of firewalls, SSL and breach detection are ineffective against today’s hackers. These are merely outer layers of security to stall hackers, but they don’t actually protect your data once an attacker gets inside your system. To adequately protect your data today, you must assume an attacker can already get inside your system and then build a security roadmap with that in mind. A holistic approach to security that provides application-level encryption combined with FIDO-based strong authentication and digital signatures is the most effective way to ensure an attacker cannot subvert the system.
